Celestial Academy - Chapter 1
The bell rang out as a flock of birds flew from the watch tower. Students bustled about, chattering with people they know, and some making new acquaintances. The sun rose high into the sky and a late summer breeze washed over the open area. A few students walked inside the building, while some were still making their way over on the path. However, one student remained behind on a bench, a freshman dressed in a white uniform. His pen slid over the pages of a tattered sketchbook. His tongue stuck out to the side a bit as his emerald eyes followed each stroke of the pen. For a moment, his left hand rested at his side, and the lad smiled at

The Adventures of the Big Four: Cold and Darkness
The North Pole
Jack Frost paced nervously across the bright red carpeting of North’s office.
“Where is he?” Jack muttered rubbing the back of his head. “He said it was urgent.”
“Jack!” North’s booming voice spun Jack around to face the door. “Here you are! Thanks for coming so quickly.”
“What’s this about North? Why didn't you call the others in too? I thought Hiccup, Rapunzel, Merida and I were a team now?”
“You may have need of them in this yet, but this began with just you and I wanted to discuss it with you first.”
Jack nodde

Everlasting Snow: Chapter 23
“In the pale echo of light, vague outlines moved through Bertie’s field of vision, but their details were lost to the dark. Her bedroom walls took flight in a soaring arc before…”
You trail off, holding your place on the page.
He’s not awake anymore.
His breathing has slowed significantly, his arms limp and his heartbeat now a slow, steadily-beating drum.
What’s more is that he has stopped interrupting you to ask a question or make a snide comment every few lines of the story.
After sharing in that kiss, you had thrown away the wrapping paper—all except the stuff that covered Jack’s—

For: (your name).
From: Jack Frost.
And a tiny drawing of a snowflake beside his name to complete his signature.
The tag—made of thick eggshell-white cardstock with a border of miniscule spindles of real frost—is captivating in itself.
It’s a small, semi-rectangular package, no larger than four inches long and three inches wide. It is wrapped carefully in snow-white wrapping paper with clear snowflakes decorating it, only visible as light reflects off of them, giving them life. A silk silver ribbon snugly embraces the package, ending in a small matching bow in the upper left-hand corner.
You turn to face Jack once again

Everlasting Snow: Chapter 21
The radio on your alarm clock switches on, telling you that it’s time to get up.
“…traffic on the freeways is close to heavenly. Light snow expected all throughout today, folks,” the radio host tells you. “It’s going to be a White Christmas!”
Wait. You didn’t set your alarm.
“And now back to the music! This next one’s for all you sleepyheads out there who are STILL IN BED THIS LATE ON CHRISTMAS MORNING.”
Wow, that radio is loud. It’s as if the host is in your bedroom, yelling right at you.
Eyes still closed and wanting to sleep in longer since you didn’t get m

Everlasting Snow: Chapter 20
You have odd dreams that night.
At first, you don’t even dream at all. At least, not that you can remember.
Then you have good dreams. Dreams about snow and flying, dreams filled with wondrous adventure and things straight out of a storybook. You find yourself skating once again on the beautiful lake, alone save for the trees and snow.
But then you hear a crack.
Your dream-self screams as you fall into the ice-cold water. You try to swim back up to the surface, but find yourself only sinking further into its dark depths, the subzero water paralyzing you. You can’t hold your breath any longer. Your chest feels like it is collap

It feels as though you have a breath mint resting on your lips.
At first, you’re shocked. You don’t know what to do. What the heck is happening? You don’t resist, but you just stand there, motionless.
The subtle scent of pine trees hypnotizes you and you give in, becoming less rigid and holding yourself closer to him. You close your eyes as well. You soon find yourself lost in the odd yet wonderful sensations provided by the kiss.
It’s surprisingly warm. Cold, yes, but the soft warmth that lies beneath his touch is stronger in this intimate act. The outer coldness makes him taste slightly minty, making your lips tin

“JACK!”
He whirls around, staff at the ready.
A stream of ice whizzes by to your left, narrowly missing you and whatever it is that is carrying you.
Jack takes to the air and chases after you, firing at your kidnapper at windows of opportunity. As the trees get thicker and the forest darker, he calls out your name and you call back in hopes of keeping track of one another.
He’s starting to lose you. You can now only catch glimpses of snow-white hair here and blue-glowing staff there in the darkness, his calls getting more and more distant.
Soon, you see nothing at all besides barely-visible tree trunks.
“Jack?&rd

Once again, you find yourself in flight.
Without hesitation, Jack had snatched up your hand and leapt into the air, taking you with him. With the wind at your backs, the two of you shot off your porch and in the direction that the black wisp had disappeared off into.
You’d be enjoying it a lot more if you weren’t scared out of your mind. What is it that you’re chasing? What would you find when you caught up to it, if you did? You can’t shake the ominous feeling as it sits in the pit of your stomach, weighing you down as you zip through the sky.
Jack’s head is darting from left to right in search of any sign of

You stand there for a few minutes in complete shock.
It looks like a tornado has hit your kitchen.
After you told Jack your name and watched him fly off into the distance, you closed the door and leaned against it, smiling widely for reasons that you couldn’t quite figure out. Needing something to preoccupy yourself with while you waited for his return, you caught sight of your dirty mug and figured that you should wash it. So off you went to your kitchen.
And that’s when you saw the chaos lying in wait for you.
Dishes are piled high in the sink. Unused tools are put away without care. Drawers are half-open because they were t
